The 10th Annual Port Jeff Green Fest is happening this June in Port Jefferson on Long Island. This event is all about helping people learn about living green and being energy conscious.
According to the Port Jeff Green Fest website, the purpose of this annual event is:
“To educate, inform, entertain, and enlighten people on how to make choices for a greener world. This is consistent with the green movement that helps promote sustainable ways of living.”
The Port Jeff Green Fest is a free event the whole family can enjoy. It’s sponsored by the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and Co-Sponsored by the Times Beacon Record. There will be green events, live entertainment, children’s activities, booths, live demonstrations, and a mini farmer’s market.
The main event of this year’s Green Fest is the new Community Shredding Event (residents only.) From 1-3:30pm, residents can bring 3 bags or boxes per person to get shredded.
Last year, some of the vendors on display included Greenleaf Solar, Nature Connection, and the LI Native Plants Initiative. Green Fest participants also enjoyed the Live Animal Show with Eric Powers and Green Yoga with Diane McDonald.
